This is not a joke question. Yes, I am male. However, being an intuitive person, I fully understand things such as feeling and expression. In other words, I am just as perplexed as women are about why men behave in certain ways.

Why do most men talk and act as though they are impervious to feelings and emotions? And why do many men (not all, but many) have so little regard for other people's feelings? Does it all come naturally to them? Is it advantageous to be that way?

OK, I'll prepare for the fireworks now...

men have been taught repeatedly that the only two emotions that are safe and "manly" to express are anger and lust.

Its up to the individual man to allow himself without guilt to feel beyond those two emotions.

I can understand that feeling although I'm a woman. I'm different than most women though because my emotions are much like a man's and I was very nonchalant with feelings towards others. Subsequently, I was very unaffectionate. This changed for me when I met my man and fell in love. He was much like how you are explaining yourself too, but after meeting me, he changed as well.

I think men generally just have to meet the right partner that taps into their emotions. This is the case with women too but much easier than men.

It's the way most of us are brought up.

Mummy's little soldier
Big boys don't cry
Stiff upper lip

It is advantageous, because everyone else is acting that way. Showing your feminine side is still considered a bit "gay".
