The only correct information here is that an iPod is *one* brand name, and Sansa and Creative (Zen) make better sounding players with better functionality.
An iPod doesn't necessarily hold more music; the number of songs any MP3 player will hold is based on the size of the MP3 player's hard drive or flash drive and how compressed (encrypted) the MP3s are. Audio files encrypted at a higher bit rate (192-320 kbs) are larger and take up more space. Audio files encrypted at a lower bit rate (64-128 kbs) are smaller and take up less space, but with a noticeable deterioration of the sound quality.
You'll want to research the available brands and select the one that best suits your needs. Things to consider are how many formats (MP3, wav, WMA, etc, ) are compatible with the player and how much music you really need to carry with you. iPods are compatible with fewer formats and require special software to access your music. If you're using a PC running Windows, almost anything is better than an iPod.
Anyone can buy an iPod but most informed consumers usually opt for one of the numerous better quality players on the market. For more information on alternative MP3 players, I suggest a visit to http://www.anythingbutipod.com

There isnt that much diffrence. iPod is a mp3 player. iPod is just more famous. iPods can also hold about 5 times more than a regular mp3 player. For example:
Lets say you buy a mp3 player and put 250 songs. It might be filled up. If you get an iPod video you can hold 7,500 songs. Also iPod has better warranty. If i was you i would get iPod. The only problem about iPods are that they run out of battery fast. You got to keep charging them.
Thanks!

An mp3 player is a device you can download music files into. Ipod is just the brand of one type of mp3 player. There are many many other good mp3s out there. Ipod is just the most popular and everyone has heard of it. The best brands out there are sandisk and zen.

Ipod's are mp3 players. they just hold a lot more and are more known. if you want smething just for music i would suggest getting something around 1GB. mp3 players work just the same as Ipods...they both play music
