It seems like everywhere I go it's emo this and emo that, emo is emotional hardcore,i began using that term 5 years ago, and the music emocore goes all the way back to the 80's. But serously mostly everything I hear about it now is bad, and the kids all dress a certain way and all that other boil ****.Don't you people figure out your pushing people further apart instead of trying to create unity,(im listenting to strike anywhere refusal currently, and some of the lyrics go "and every hour a voice is lost")
I apply those words to what you people are doing and makes me sick seeing all those videos on youtube and what not, and adam and andrew making a song about it and performing infront of people calling people gay(which I find pretty offensive)
how can we create unity when all we are doing is pushing people back?

emo is a type of music and thats all. but people decided it should be added to the long list of stereotypes that already exist. and no matter how much you wish it would end, its not going to.....because everyone stereotypes and everyone is stereotyped....thats just the way it works. the problem is that too many people let it get to them. and until they can get over it and care less about what other people think then its not going to get better.

When people call music 'Emo' it is ridiculous, as all good songs are emotional. Otherwise they would be monotone and boring.

The 'Emo' click has seperated themselves from society by acting like they have problems whether they do or not. Honestly, it is ridiculous. 'Emo' kids are also know as looking exactly alike and being bisexual. This is stereotyping in a very high degree but the people themselves are doing nothing for their reputation.

I am sure that it will simply get worse as all other click problems do until it simply dissingrates or gets out of hand. The fact that mainstram society is pushing them away is nothing new. There will always be a group of people that are hated by society, as it is some sick form of entertainment for it.

Music being labled ''emo" is ridiculous! Music should be emotional, but bands such as Panic! At the Disco, who mention nothing about killing themselves or other typical 'emo' things, should not be hated or discriminated by society simply because people need to hate bands for their own fun.

Unfortunately, the people who see how stupid it really is have to just deal with it. Rant as much as you want, but I daresay that you can't change society's veiws. Enjoy what you wish and ignore the stereotyping is the best thing I can tell you.

It sound as if you live in a bubble, since you're only running into emo-everything... try to get out and experience the rest of the world, and you'll see that there are several other types of music that are not whiny, pity partys, separating people from other people, but in fact inviting you in to share your songs...

good luck!

i feel where you're coming from. i find it funny that so many people are "expressing themself" by dressing like their friends or idols on tv. and expressing personal frustrations by picking out groups that are different, to hate.
