The GS has the same motor as the LS. LS is Cloth interior. GS is Leather interior. and Some GS's have woodgrain

RS: Regular Series. Available in both coupe and sedan. No sedan available in 1998. Model dropped in 1999. Equipped with the B18B1 DOHC engine putting out 142 HP and 127 ft-lbs. of torque. In 1997, power ratings dropped to 140HP and 124 ft-lbs. of torque. As always, the stripped down model. Standard features were a cassette player, rear window defroster, and tilt steering wheel. Cassette player replaced with CD player in 1997.

LS: Luxury Series. Available in both coupe and sedan. From the RS, the LS adds air conditioning, power windows and door locks, cruise control, and a moonroof. In 1998, the LS became equipped with alloy wheels and in 2000 was given a leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. The LS is most popular non-VTEC model Integra and arguably best value.

SE: Special Edition. Available in both coupe and sedan starting from 1995. SE's are only found in 1995 and 1996 model years until they were changed to be named the GS in 1997. From the LS, it added leather seats, alloy wheels on all years, and a rear wing spoiler.

GS: Grand Series. Available in both coupe and sedan starting from 1997. Same standard features as the SE.

GS-R: Grand Series Racing. Available in both coupe and sedan. Equipped with the B18C1 DOHC VTEC engine outputting 170HP and 128 ft-lbs. of torque. Same standard features as the GS minus the leather seats. However, leather seats ended up becoming a standard feature on the GS-R starting in 1999. Again, no auto transmission available for this car.

Type R: Type Racing. Available in coupe only starting from 1997. Not available in the U.S. in 1999. Equipped with fully tuned B18C5 DOHC VTEC engine outputting 195HP and 130 ft-lbs. of torque. Check the Type R Special for the technical differences on this car. Standard features were exclusive of the rest of the models and in 1997, included black mesh/suede bolstered seats with red stitching, mid-height rear wing, front lip spoiler, body colored side rocker panels, shaved door moldings, leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, power windows and door locks, and exclusive white powder-coated light-weight alloy wheels with 5-lug configuration. In 2000, added standard features were an aluminum shift knob, gunmetal lightweight alloy wheels, and air conditioning. As with the GS-R, no automatic transmission was available for the Type R. But if you were thinking about getting this car with an automatic transmission you shouldn't be thinking about this car at all.

The GSR has a 167 HP engine while the others have 140 HP engines. There's a waste gate valve on the exhaust that opens up between 3000 and 4000 rpm and the car sounds much louder when it opens so most people associate that sound with a power boost saying that the VTEC kicked in. Mine is a little rusty so I hear a squeak, a momentary loss of power as the back pressure forces the gate open and then it runs fine again, I guess 13 years and 170,000 miles is a long time for a car, at least for the waste gate. Truth is the VTEC kicks in after a period of time so that the engine warms up, no point adjusting the timing to an engine not at it's steady state operating temperature. The GSR does have better suspension than the LS/RS and GS models but is very much on the soft side and the body could use some reenforcement as well. The R model is the same engine as the GSR but with the high lift cams. I believe it's rated at 200 HP. Prior to the R type being sold, people would try to get a high lift cam brought in from Japan and change out the cams. The R type also has some serious weight reductions done to the body and a lot more stiffening of the suspension. The extra horsepower does make the car feel more lively and responsive and the car can definitely accelerate quickly. Mind you, ever since lobbiests managed to convince lawmakers into considering ozone as the pollutant rather than nitrous oxides even though ozone is produced by sunshine, cars have been getting a lot more horsepower through high compression engines like the Hemi. 167 HP was a lot for it's day but not much by today's standards so you won't be cutting through traffic the way you would've 15 years ago.

For the 94-01 years there are some suttle differences. I own a 1999 Integra GS. First of all, the LS is the base model for the Integra so no leather interior. Your wheels are different also; design, size, etc.. There is no moonroof either, unless it was a option. The LS may only have manual windows and locks too. As for the engine it should only be the B18B1 block without VTEC. Unless the Integra was purchased as a GS-R or a Type-R.
But mechanically its the same good old Integra only lighter.

its also depends on the year basically the ls is luxury sport and the gs is grand sport the both feature the 1.8 non vtec engine making 140hp u can pretty much get and ls and gs to look the same i think the feature different wheels and the gs may have a few more standard features but nothing the option box couldnt take care of

The only difference is what options came standard for the certain trim level.

The engines were the same. Both had B18 non-Vtec's.

Other than that they are identical.
