From the time that a person signs an okay for an extradition in court, how long does the other state have to pick that person up? I thought that it was ten days. And, if it is ten days, does that include weekends as well? How about holidays?

I am, obviously, not the person with the bad check. If that were the case, I would be in jail, without the use of a computer.

In some cases they're given a right to be extradited such as having warrants. My then boyfriend had an outstanding warrant in Florida for a case he had there 3 years earlier and he essentially skipped state and when he told me it was for a DUI and the minute I found out what it really was child abuse and abandonment it was clear that this was serious.

When my ex was taken into custody for an entirely different matter they ran his name and found out the state of Florida had a warrant for his arrest so they contacted the county where Jacksonville is and told them they had him in custody and they were free to come and get him. He spent 6 months in Florida for that and it took 10-14 days for Florida law enforcement to take him into custody. Depending on how fast they can get a judge to sign the order it's usually 10 days sometimes it can be as fast as 7 days.

10 days is 10 days in the court system. There is NO holidays or weekends. There is someone on call for this stuff 24/7. Because of the arrainments of crimes in most states... this stuff doesn't take a day off just becuase the rest of the US is.
