Religion & justice r 2 different things. Both r the constant subject of controversy, but no they should not be molted 2gether 2 form a unifying whole. Religion can just serve as a guide 2 how 2 live a positive, if not fulfilling life. Whereas, justice serves as a template on which 2 live a life that is just 2 others & does not infer on others rights 2 their life. :)

I can't really answer your question cleverly but I do know that as a non believer I would be very unhappy if they weren't seperate... in saying that something which as always confused me is why you have to swear on the bible to tell the whole truth etcetc, whats that about? Surely this 'tradition' should be changed (or as it, am I behind the times)? Anyway what if you don't believe in god. Also if you've committed a crime which I'm sure would be against god then why would'nt you lie on the bible, what difference would it make? Hope that makes sense...

In my opinion, organized religion should be banned from the face of the earth.
People can still be free to believe or not believe in god as they choose, but the powermongering, greedy, controlling structures of organized religion would be gone and the world would be a much better place.

we work that way in unitarian universalism.
our principles drive us to try to create a fair, just world.
we feel injustice is the root of a lot of problems.
we can't ignore worldly problems.
so we work for justice in our communities and the world.
