John S, I don't know why everyone seems to treat line-dancing as a joke because it's not an "old maid's" dance. Honestly, we have line-dancing lessons at my local community centre and the majority of its participants are between 20 - 35. So, go for it... don't care about what others think. If you think lin-dancing's fun, join in one of the classes and have fun! Good luck :)

I am 55 and have been line dancing for 9years.
I met my three best friends when I first started and we go away for weekends, nights out etc.
You do get some stick but when we have been staying in hotels and danced people are usually y very impressed. They say "Didn't think line dancing was like that".
It is great fun and good exercise.
Go on have a go what have you got to lose.

My dance class has people ages 20-85, learning tango, salsa, jive, swing, waltz. If you take group lessons, you'll probably make new friends to go out dancing with. I haven't done line dancing, but I'm sure it would be a lot of fun. Once you get pretty good at it, you'll be out dancing a few times a week- great exercise, too!

I'm only 16 and I love line dancing! I took a course of it when I was younger and found it extremely enjoyable! Some people just dont' like it, heck, some people dont ballet either, but people still do it. Don't let the judgement of others keep you from doing it if you wanna. I say try it out, it's very fun!

At any age dancing is good. It is good exercise and line dancing doesn't need a partner. Go for it. Life is too short.
