Work as a caretaker for a resort, or some industrial site, even a watch tower or cabin of some sort, somewhere deep in the woods, far from civilization, during the dead of winter? And get paid for it of course.

That'd be nice. Being alone in the lap of luxury and being paid for it.

I just wish the answers given to you were BETTER and much more informative. These stupid short answers are just crap being used to boost ratings.

Anyway, I heard that most places just offer it word of mouth, as in you make inquiries.

Wouldn't that just be the coolest job ever? Well, not if it was like The Shining" and haunted--but just to be isolated for a whole winter!
I would think people were standing 10 deep for those jobs. But maybe there would be people that have summer cabins in Minnesota and Maine that would want someone to stay and housesit through the winter for them. Possibly make some calls to the tourism offices of some of the colder states. They might be able to direct you to where to find one of these jobs.
