I would say no! Buy their own freakin' hoover if they want a clean house!!
You provide the house and maintenance and whatever else is in the contract............

As one above commented you don't provide grass without lawn mower. If you are requiring your property to be properly maintained providing a Hoover is common sense!! I have provided for my tenants. It is like providing a Rubish Bin. The advantages of paying high rent for a furnished is to have basic necessities provided. I would say a Hoover is! Strangely enough even an Ironing Board has been provided by some Landlords,

You are not obliged to provide a hoover.
I would take this opportunity though to rethink if they are the kind of tenants you want.
Obviously they do not have a hoover and have no plans to buy one so they will be destroying your carpets and living in filth.

no! as the landlord you decide what you include with the property. even if you rent the house as furnished i would say that a hoover definately isnt a classic furnishing one would expect to find in a rented property. however even though it sounds as though your tennants are being a tad cheeky might be worth buying one as then you know they are looking after your flooring. afterall hoovers are very cheap give them a shock and buy one

Unless you have a cleaning lady who supplies her own, I would suggest you provide a vaccum cleaner. That way, your tenants will have no excuses for not keeping your property ship shape. Jim

i dont know if its required, however i would be happier knowing that they want to vacuum and providing the hoover rather than having them soil the carpets and never vacuum them, its sort of a compromise that you will benefit from in the long run

No way, if they want a landlord to provide them with everything, let them go find one! They sound like trouble right off the bat, I would get rid of them quick.

Its your choice.
I would but I would put it in as part of the bond.
If you dont provide one, then you cant really complain if the carpet is messy!

If you expect them to vacuum, yes.
If you proivide grass that you expect to be mowed, you also need to provide a lawnmower.
You don't need to provide cleaning products though.
