Are there any reputable companies that do this?

Use a cassette player that has a headphone jack. Connect this to your computers audio input port. You can get this $2 cable from radio shack. Use something as simple as "sound recorder" from your accessories menu and record it on to your computer as a sound file. This will be in WAV format, which is huge, so you may want to find a program that will convert to MP3 (compressed audio) at a 96K bitrate (good balance of quality and compression).

From there, you can burn to audio CD even in iTunes.

It's kinda simple really, just tedious. What you do is: Find the microphone input on your sound card, then use a stereo 1/8" to 1/8" wire (looks like headphone plug on both end) to plug into the mic input and the other end into your tape players headphone out, then use microsofts sound recorder to record as you play. (you can find the sound recorder under Start, Programs, Accessories, Entertainment) Hope this is helpful and good luck!!!

get a good cassette player and a P2 male-P2 male audio cable, put one end on the cassette player headphone jack, and the other in your computer Line-In jack (Not microphone!) - then use any sound recorder to record it.
