1. You cannot become pregnant in the few days right before your period because the egg needs 6-12 days to travel down to the uterus after fertilazation, complete the implantation process and start producing hormones. The luteal phase is considered a safe time to have sex for people who use the family planning method of birth control because you have already ovulated. (The luteal phase is the time between ovulation and menstruation. Many women with a short luteal phase [<10 days] have problems getting pregnant.)

2. When you have your period that is your body's response to the LACK of hcg and raised levels of progesterone in the body. Those hormones (hcg) only become present as a result from implantation of an embryo. So you see-you cannot have both.

3. When you have your period, you shed the endometrium (the lining of the uterus). When the egg implants, it implants into the endometrium and therefor when you shed the endometrium you would shed anything along with it.

It sounds like you are stressed out or you are coming down with something-but it is not a baby.

BTW-implantaion bleeding does occur. If your "period" was so light that you didn't need to use a tampon or pad than pregnancy is a possibility. Mostly though, implantation lasts one or two days not four and a half. Four and a half is considered a normal period.

There are alot of symptoms to pregnancy. There is the headaches the nausea and the one dead give away the missed period, but I think that you need to take a test to be sure.

Hi,
If you had your period, I don't think you are pg. Cause if you were pg, you wouldn't bleed for 4 days. Thats not a good sign if you were pg. I think you have a flu bug or something. I don't think you are pg.
When I was pg I never had one spot of blood during the whole nine 9 months.
Hope this helps!
