Please help me, I need ideas for a persuasive presentation - not how to write a persuasive topic - but the main topic of the presentation, what to talk about. Thanks

Option 1: take a controversial topic and defend one side. (like abortion, immigration, national security, homosexuality, etc.)

Option 2: take a ridiculous topic and defend one side (like "the sky is purple" "people should eat elephants" "convicts should eat each other" "Canada should annex Zimbabwe" etc"

Option 3: take a mediocre topic and talk about it (like "people are good" "I should have an A on this presentation" etc.)

I think my main persuasive topic is to convince students that they need to think of their own topic of discussion and THEN ask for assistance.

This topic is Homework Help not Homework Doing.

Do it on anything you know a lot about like a hobby or something you have done a million times with a parent or a sport you play. If it's something you can do with your eyes closed you can talk about it for 3 to 4 minutes without even thinking.

First off choose something you believe in and have a little background knowledge about. You will never persuade anyone of something you do not personally believe in. Second make sure the topic is relivant to them so they CARE to listen to it. For example if you were in college, you could try to persuade your classmates to write to their congressmen to put a freeze on state tuition increases, or to their senators to lower the indepent age for the FFAFSA to 21 instead of 24. Or to totally eliminate the need for men to register for the selective service in order to apply for Federal Aide, grants and scholarships or make it equitable and require women to do it as well. Look at topics that affect your community, such as municipal laws and regulations etc. that are out of date or abitrary.

Use a Presentation Rubric as a quality standard.
