Pretty much, even more so when breast fed. Sort of "thickens up" as time goes by and their digestive system matures. If "like" water you may want to take your child to a physician, they will want to know what color, consistency, what it resembles, odor, and number of b/M's.

It can be watery or it can be hard depending on if the are being breastfed or if they are on formula I know that my niece she had a really hard time going to the bathroom so they figured out that it was the formula and they had to put her on soy formula and now she is fine but every baby is going to have different types of stool.

OH, yes. Gradually that changes to the real stuff, & gets smeller & messer. Every wonder how some thing that poops & pees & spits up that much can still smell so sweet. There is nothing that smells like as good as a baby.

I nursed my son for the first year of his life. For the first 6 months, he only had breastmilk and the nurses informed me that a "health" poop looked exactly like cottage cheese mixed with some mustard. They weren't lying!
