sex pistols, ramones, l.a. dolls
i think the Doors and even later Beatles stuff had an early influence.it's a lot of what the punk artist of the late 70's/ early 80's were listening to when they were growing up that influenced them.

The Ramones, The Clash...but I think that all musicians were greatly impacted by Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix...no matter what genre of music they play

The Sex Pistols were pretty innovative too, also the New York Dolls, they were among the first to wear makeup I think, the Clash were also pretty iconic.
