I was hoping someone had at least a ballpark figure on how much one of those typical blue/white homes in Santorini would cost to own? Thank you!

Extremely expensive, it would be better if you built one

The Greek property market has taken off over the last couple of years. Santorini is one of the most sought after islands, with houses going for serious money.

From the attached link you can typically buy,

1. A part built house (ie. frame only) at 350,000 Euros
2. A half-finished Santorini "cave house" at 350,000 Euros
3. An ordinary 3 apartment beach home at 600,000 Euros
4. A modern take on one of the blue and white houses at 2 million Euros.

For a decent property don't count less than 250 thousands Euros. Santorini is a very trendy island and every square meter is overvalued. There are a lot of islands in the Aegean sea where you can find for a better "best for value" index.
