First things first, is the male specimen before me attractive?
Yes? mmm definately interested in getting to know him better
No? Wellllll maybe I'll give him a five minute chance to convince me
General rule of thumb for me though, I'm shallow, I like to feel attracted to the person I'm interested in.
Now looks are out of the way.
Is he nice? Is he polite? Is he able to get what he wants, without hurting anyone, yet without compromising what it is he wants? Is he strong? Could he handle my bs and still laugh when I crack a joke? Can he crack a joke? Is he into living life or just exsisting? Is he passionate? Is he fun? Is he reserved just enough for me to be completely intrigued to find out more, yet open enough for me to feel he's being honest? Is he a woman-hater? Does he have and use the words "slut", "ho", "bitchez" and "suck it" in his regular vocabulary? Does he cook? Does he try to do sweet things?
But in the end of all these little questions here's the one that'll keep me interested:
does he give me butterflies in my belly?

That's VERY subjective.
I believe most women like a gentle,romantic,polite,intelligent,funny guy.
I prefer someone who's usually in a cheerful mood and really LOVES life.Someone simple and able to appreciate the smallest thing in life.

Strong work ethic, honesty, loyalty, educated, romantic, great appreciation for women (respectful of women) ......... those are just a few. Physical characteristics,..... hmmm... eyes... pretty eyes, thick lips, strong body.

My first type of characteristic is honesty.
Then probably integrity, someone who stands by his word.
If he has those characteristics, then how bad can the rest of them be?

Be wary of the answers you get here my friend. Women say they want a "nice" guy but the truth is nice guys finish last. They want a guy that's "mysterious" and acts like he doesn't give a damn.

i think it varies from woman to woman. but personally i prefer a guy who is funny, fun to be with, easy going, NOT overly jealous, makes a woman feel like a queen, treats a woman with respect, is not afraid to show affection to a woman, good with his hands.

what do you mean by characteristics?
if you mean characteristics in general, i would say: moral and ethical strength coupled with humor.
if you mean physical characteristics, i would say: overal good proportion, health, and strength.
