Because historically people in each area would've been a lot more secluded from other places, and spoken the language in the way they interpreted it. Obviously their children would speak in that way too and so words in different places of each country are pronounced in different ways today.

one reason . having everyone all around the world speak the same would not be interesting , it would be boring .
