Seems like this would be a major issue. I know there are large numbers of Americans that would support this. So where are the people who want to run and support this issue?

They're in no hurry to make any statements that would commit them to a stance. They want to wait to see how the majority of voters will feel as we get closer to the Presidential elections. No sense in taking a chance of letting people know how you feel till it can really do you some good, eh? wink, wink...nudge, nudge...

For better or worse, 1/2 of the GOP and 3/4 of the Dems actually don't care much about illegal immigration. They know that if those illegals become citizens that they'll vote, and they think that those people will vote for the party that was friendly to them.

In the coming months you'll see some sort of "amnesty" program, which will be a joke since ICE doesn't even have a way to process people trying to go thru the legal channels.

Because our economy is in the toilet. The last thing people want or need is to blow more money on the military. I think people would rather elect someone who has a more intelligent strategy than "buy more guns!", like holding employers and social service workers more accountable.
