Where was it driven or where is the spike today? The last spike was driven on Promontory Summit in Utah, but it's not there any more. I think it's at Stanford University. (Leland Stanford, founder of Stanford University, was one of the "Big 4" of the Central Pacific Railroad.) I was at Promontory Summit this summer...very cool place to visit!

Then, a single 4 letter word substitute into sent signaling final touch of a huge challenge; It pronounced, only, "executed."

Promontory Point, Utah is where the last spike was driven. It was made of gold and after being driven in was removed and replaced with an iron spike. The gold one is on display somewhere.
