this has become a huge arguement. do you pronounce aaron and erin differently? what about dawn and don? my friends husband, his friends, and family are all from new york and me and my friend, and our other friends are all born and raised here in cali. all the californians say them the same and all the people from new york say that we are wrong and you say them different. its become a huge arguement any time someone new comes around.

Having read your question (out loud) I've come to realize that, yes, I do pronounce them differently. But the difference is so subtle that I don't think it could be detected but by the most discerning ear. The listener probably wouldn't know which spelling I was pronouncing. I would most likely use the slightly different pronunciation of the names (Erin-Aaron) depending on gender, too. I recall trying to learn German. The German friends we had would laugh at me and say, "no, no, no it's said THIS way!" well, this way sounded just like That way to me when they repeated it. I never was able to tell the difference, or learn German (yet)

Aaron and Erin can be said the same but Erin actually has more of an "E" sound at the beginning. And Aaron has more of an A sound.. kinda hard for me to explain in text lol.

Dawn has the Aww so u kinda hear the "w"

Don is nothing at all like dawn, don is just like Ron, pronouced tha same.

Also remember not everyone speaks the same, everyone has an accent to someone else, so the way you say it could be different from how I say it, but neither way is wrong. its just how you say it.

Aaron and Erin are completely different. Erin is short (or Gaelic) for Ireland and pronounced Air - in, whilst Aaron is pronounced Aaa ron. Dawn is pronounced as in brawn or drawn - with a D of course whilst Don is Don as in the first part of Donald.

Both groups are "right." Regional differences don't make you right or wrong...just different. It adds to the spice of life.
