I have had all the heads checked, no water in the oil, new sparkplugs and wires and had the fuel injectors cleaned.

If it's missing and blowing white smoke, then somebody's missed something...you are definitely burning antifreeze. Assuming you've checked for blown head gaskets, & checked the heads and block for cracks/damage/warping, it may be an internal water jacket crack somewhere in the block that only opens when under a load. Now if it is bluish white smoke, it is burning oil... worn rings are the primary cause there. Hope this helped.

Whatever car you choose, one of these two, or something else always try to buy from the current owner. Then you can look them in the eye and ask - "So what does this car really need?" If they say it's perfect, they are wrong. All used cars come with baggage - your challenge is finding out how much baggage and how bad. I would probably pick the Lexus as I own two now and both are excellent cars. Having said this, I would also take that car to a Reputable - Knowledgeable - Lexus or Toyota dealer to have thoroughly diagnosed. May cost $100 - $150, but you can use those results to negotiate a better price. The ideal thing is to offer the seller to have the car diagnosed, and if you buy, then you'll add the diagnosis cost to your buying price - of course after you have negotiated a price. The Lexus will handle better and you'll find it is built much better than the Camaro of that year.

Depends on whether you're talking about smoke or steam. White
smoke would indicate a fuel problem resulting in missing & poor
performance even at idle.Steam would suggest a problem with the cooling system, but generally not a problem when the vehicle
is sitting at idle. We'll work from there.

White means water in the oil. Grey means you are buring oil.

You need to have a mechanic check it out to make sure.

You have a cracked engine block, more than likely. Have a mechanic check it out and put a rebuilt engine in it for around $5K.
