I'm interested on how the "mind works" and i kind of want to further on in education.. What kind of jobs, or classes should i look into.. I know i don't want to be a pschologist, or something like that. So if anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Marketing/advertising executives need to have a good understanding of how the mind works as do successful business people.

I don't know whether you count psychology as close to some of the other social sciences but most of them involve the mind (particularly sociology and to a great extent, political science).

Attorneys for criminal trials must grasp how the mind of the defendant works as well as the judge and jury. Detectives and certain forensics experts and criminal profilers also need to know how the criminal mind operates.

You have started a never ending quest. One that I as an educator have pondered and continue to seek answers to. I'm currently putting together a web page called brain toolz and have a launch date set for July 07. I do not know your age but I would research MIT. As well as a continual search for answers on the web. There are many sights I have found.. Those resources should be up when my Web page goes up... in the mean time here is one for you. http://tip.psychology.org/
Bye for now. good luck on your search for metacognition.

How about becoming a curriculum specialist? THe people who determine what to teach and when need a very good working knowledge of how the mind works on all levels and including special education, so they can create adaptive curriculum and lessons.

Hmm... Buddhism, a study of THAT.
I am NOT kidding at all.
They have had the tradition of being the closest observers of "how the mind works" out of all religions.

You could be a neurologist and work more with the scientific and less with the behavioral.
