are slips even bought and worn by women anymore, are they not popular?

I actually just bought a new slip set.. Separate top and bottom.. Most of the slips now days are in two piece sets, with the bottoms being more of a pant style, even though they are still "flouncy" as are regular slips. And by the first answer that was posted I am guessing that most of the younger generations have no idea what they are. I know a lot of women who wear camisole's under extremely see-through clothing. Not everyone wants to dress like a 15 year old for the rest of their life. My question is this..... Do women still wear bra's under their camisoles? Because it is so hard to tell anymore.

I have a couple, but have not worn them in years. A few years ago when I went to a wedding I had to frantically go buy one b/c I didn't have any.
When I wear a dress or a skirt, I always make sure it is thick enough that it is not see thru though. But what is funny is that years ago, say in the 50's and 60's dresses used to be lined, so no slips were necessary. Why isn't that still done?

Not a lot of clothing requires slips any more. Most dresses and skirts have built-in linings. Also, lingere-style clothing is more popular now than it used to be, and a slip would totally defeat the purpose of that, which is looking like you don't have anything on under it.

We dont wear them because they are hot, itchy, bulky and outdated. Although a slip is still necessary if your dress can be seen thru. Otherwise, we left them back in teh 80's

I think guys buy more slips and wear them than the girls do.

i still wear them i love the feel of slips under my skirts or dresses.
there are still quite a few of us that wear them.

Oprah said she hated them a few years back, so of course, the sheeple that watched her had to stop. Thank God her old show is gone.
