Warming it a little by putting it in a bowl of hot water (never in the microwave) is recommended as it helps with digestion and is more like milk straight from mommy which is at body temp. Sorry to hear he wont take it straight from you, that saves a bunch of hassle, but kudos for you to continue by giving EBM!!

A breastfed baby is used to his/her milk being the temperature of his mother's body. Warm it up if he/she doesn't seem to like it or fusses. It will be an easier transition to expressed feeding if you do it that way--just don't microwave breastmilk. It destroys the nutrients in it. Warm it under hot water til it reaches the right temperature, and always test it yourself before feeding to make sure it isn't too hot.

It should be body temperature. If you just expressed it, it will be right. If it was in the fridge or freezer, you will need to warm it. Never warm a bottle in the microwave. Hold it under hot running water, or use a bottle warmer. The way to tell if it is body temperature is to squeeze a drop on the underside of your wrist. If you don't feel it, it's because it's the same temperature as your body- just right. Otherwise, it will feel hot or cold.

Warm it a little, helps comfort him and easier to digest. Make sure you always hold him to feed, for bonding, closeness, loving from his mommy.

If it has been refrigerated I would warm it up so you cant feel it!! This way it is not too warm and not too cold to cramp up your baby's tummy :) Test it on your wrist until you can't feel it on there.
