Federalists. They became a political party, formed by Alexander Hamilton, which lasted into the 1820s. Their opponents were called "Republicans", a party formed by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.

In the colonies, they were called "Federalists." In England, they were called "Traitors." It is all a matter of perspective.
