Well there are different types of ants good for different things.
Fire ants are excellent scavengers, they can strip an animal down to the bones overnight thus eliminating the decomposing carcass.
That is just one example.
All ants of course are a food item for other animals which helps with our food cycle.
Then there is always the example they show us by working tirelessly to help out the whole community, they are an excellent example of how a socialist society should work together to survive.

It's a good question. Some people would say they're good for nothing, while others would say they have a lot of uses.

My own idea is that they're good for a number of things. I like to burn them with a magnifying glass and the sun on the sidewalk. The y are also good to just watch run around in little circles.

Also, and more seriously., they form part of quite a number of food chains, and it would be difficult to imagine the world without them.
