There are a few brands of composite decking materials available at most bldg. material stores. It does cost 3 times as much as lumber but it lasts 20 times as long....no rot, no splinters,no staining, no painting, no termites. It makes perfect sence to me, but it is a hard sell because of the initial cost.

Build a deck out of whatever you want, just be prepared for it to be washed away by a hurricane. If the deck goes, the house will too.
