Idont like icons on the desktop so i have set the desktop option in the taskbar but dont know why the settings don't get saved, i have to mark the desktop option everytime the computer is booted......... where's the problem??

i think there is a problem with ur descktop tool bar so i think u should try to make a new descktop tool bar rather cliclking the onld one for new click new too bar and choose desktop hope that will solve ur problem

i think, if u want to hide desktop icons, ryt click on desktop, then 'arrange icons by', then uncheck 'show desktop icons'....if u r using windows...u havnt specified ur OS.
