Well, there's a story about a man that keeps making me feel so sad.A boy left his coutry,Hungary, and moved to the USA looking for a better life. This happened in the late nineties.Instead of finding the fortune he turned into drugs and prostitution which I guess made him even more in need to take drugs considering what he must have been through.Eventually he ended his life at the age of 28 after being run over by a truck. It's unknown if it was an accident or suicide.
When I hear these stories I feel miserable and terribly sad.
Why does this happen to those that only ask and act to improve their lives and instead of a dream they live a nightmare?

As you said, this is a "story" - something you heard about someone a decade ago. It could be true or it could be false. Bad things happen each and every day of our lives and it is our responsibility as humans and citizens to make the world a better place in order to prevent some of them from happening again. If hearing about sad stories makes you sad, you sure better not watch the evening news!!! To help you stay balanced, please remember the FACT that, for every person who has a tragedy, there are hundreds of thousands who have dreams fulfilled. Don't dwell on something that may or may not have happened ten years ago to someone you have no information about. Focus on those you love and help protect them. Seek out people who need help, like those in shelters, and donate warm clothes or serve hot meals. It is within you to change the world. You achieve nothing by sitting and brooding.

hey friend don't be sad. Most would say these things happen. But I say this are mistakes that we pay. When making a choice you should be able to stick to your original plan and follow the hard way if necessary to make it happen. Drugs, prostitution, porn and stuff like that is the way to easy money. The excuse we often use to tell ourselves is " just for a while to follow my dream". I think that you can avoid anything if you are really prepared to work hard and wait. These stories might tell us to be more prepared, might tell us to be careful, might just be stories...

This may sound cold, but there's this thing called choice. There are ways to help yourself even if you are in straightened circumstances.

Instead of becoming a prostitute this boy could certainly have gotten any number of crappy jobs working at a restaurant or department store. From there you build relationships and friendships where he could help himself and others around him. He could have even been a volunteer at one of the shelters that helps young runaways. His experiences could have been used to lift people out of their misery.

But no. He chose to squander all that by wallowing in drugs, prostitution and victim-hood.

There are plenty of stories of people who come over here with nothing and do ok for themselves. Why people choose the paths they choose are out of my hands, so I don't waste my energy worrying about it. Why fill a cracked jug with water when it will only leak out? Your energy would be better directed at people who are struggling along a positive path and not in a downward spiral of self destruction.
