Well, it varies. And it also depends on the kind of expectations the patient has as to how they will feel afterwards. Some may feel that it is a huge confidence booster and others may become depressed because it is not what they expected or it didn't change their life in the way they hoped.
Some women are so psychologically affected by having small breasts, that they have to seek counselling and take medication due to depression. For them, having an enlargement can really help their self esteem and change their life.
But the women who have have the procedure in an attempt to become more attractive to the opposite sex or in the hope that it will open up opportunities for them in life are the ones that are usually disappointed.
Yes, some people will never be satisfied, no matter how much surgery they have.

Women who aren't satisfied with the size/shape/symmetry of their breasts. A boob job can be just adding implants, or it can be a lift or a reduction. All kinds of women are unhappy with their breasts for various reasons, and unlike other physical aspects, that isn't something that can be significantly altered through diet and exercise. Also, women who have lost one or both breasts because of an injury or disease may opt to have reconstructive surgery.
Often women are more confident after they've had a boob job, even if they're the only one who knows that they've had it. Everyone dislikes something about themselves, and it isn't realistic to think that a boob job will be a magic pill and make everything perfect, but it can help someone who genuinely feels that her life is negatively affected by the appearance of her breasts. For example, if someone is very top-heavy she may have a really hard time finding clothes (I have NEVER found a button-up shirt that fits me), which can impact both her professional and personal life.
I hope this helped. Of course, the reasons to get a boob job are different for every woman who wants one, and the results vary just as much.

when people dont like the way their boobs look and compare themselves with celebritys. if getting a boob job is what they really want and can afford having them done then they should if that is one way to boost self confidence and have complexes. but let me tell you, when people get plastic surgery some of them are satisfied with the results and some of them are not. also plastic surgery can be very addicting. it can make you feel like you want to get more things fixed.

Low self esteem, rich people - girls who can ask their daddy for them, people who have been influenced by ads and such (falling under self esteem category).
Some people may feel confident, but others might use the surgery to get more done to them because "they're not big enough", "oh i can get better ones"
also, some might get jobs to reduce size.

Those who mistakenly think their 'boob's' determine how feminine they are. Of course there are those who have the breasts of a pre-teen and desire to have more of a shape there...that I can maybe understand. But to increase your breast size to draw attention that way...I think...work on the inside (the heart, soul, true confidence)...boobs do not make the woman. If a guy is with a woman in part for her boobs...what good are those boobs going to do if she is not of keen mind, compassionate, sense of humor...and on into elder years ~ ~ is more interest in a valuing loving relationship or pictures of days gone by of big boobs. You'll hopefully be living with the authentic love and compassion of a woman, saggy breasts and all...no matter the size.

Women who feel their boobs are so small that they are not attractive.....Larger boobs usually make them feel better about themselves...
And yes, some people are never satisfied and use them for commerical purposes such as strippers..

My daughter in law got one because she was EXTREMELY lop sided- Embarassingly so-
People have their own reasons to do what they do-
I don't think you can "type" them.

Id say mainly women get them. Tho i have heard of at least one guy getting em.
