Just slow down, take your time when you are inserting it. The number one problem that girls have inserting a tampon, is that the are nervous about it. This causes the walls of the vagina to constrict and make insertion difficult.

There are ridges on all applicators, you need to make sure that you push the applicator all the way in, before you push the tampon into place.

If you are having trouble getting the applicator in far enough, remove the tampon, and insert it by hand, or try O.B. their tampons don't have an applicator at all.

Try a different position, the two most common are sitting on the toilet with your legs spread apart, or standing with one foot up on the tub, or toilet seat. You can also try squatting.

You may need a smaller size to start with. If your using a super, switch to a regular, if your using a regular now, Tampax makes a slender regular and a junior size. This size may be too small for your flow, so you may need to use a thin pad or liner, but you will get better at inserting them, and will be able to use a larger size very soon.

Get a different type of applicator. There are all kinds of plastic, and cardboard applicators to chose from. Playtex gentle glide, or Tampax pearls are very easy to use.

You can also apply a little bit of Vaseline to the applicator and or your vagina, this will help everything to slide into place.

Before you insert the tampon you should try to push the tampon out a little first and then insert it into your vagina. And if you have your period for 3months now that is not normal you should go see a doctor asap

this is scwids girlfriend....

I think you need to go to a obgyn if you have had a period for that long. You might also want to try a smaller tampon. Are you on birth control? missed a pill, or too late? Do you have one of those insert types of BC? how is your diet? are you anorexic or bulimic? so many factors to why you have a period for this long, most of them are not good, but you really need to see the obgyn.

Be careful though, toxic shock is a bad bad thing, if you feel yourself getting weak and light headed remove it immediately.

Your period will fluctuate each month. Use the right size for your needs. Also, please make sure you don't have an old tampon in still. I know someone who did that before. If that doesn't work, use a pad for now and make sure you see a gynecologist.

When I first started using tampons, I used ones called "Slimfits" made by Playtex. They're specifically designed for first-time users because they're a lot smaller and thinner than regular size tampons.

I always have this problem!!! I cannot wear tampons for the very reason. I finally asked my doctor about this after many discouraging years and found out that I have a tilted pelvis, so thats why it is uncomfortable. Perhaps you suffer from the same thing?

Tampons are not recommended for virgins or females with still developing vaginas.

You should use pads at least until you have been sexually active and have finished growing.
