BEST thing that happened was when I was 6, and waiting anxiously for my Mother to pick me up from First Grade one afternoon, she was very late coming, and finally came in a taxicab.
As I waited, I prayed that I would never lose her, that we would never be accidentally separated. I knew that was the most important thing in the world to me.
My prayer was answered, because 49 years later she died of natural causes at age 93, and I had been able to care for her at home until almost the last day of her life. That was the major wish of my childhood, and it came true.

the best thing that ever happened to me was realizing a life long dream of getting behind the controls of an aircraft and flying.
the best thing I ever did was come across a house early one morning on my way to work and seeing smoke pouring out of the attic space. I stopped and banged on the door waking up the family inside and getting them out of the house.
