Say if I smoke pot and engage in prostitution in Amsterdam where that is legal, when I come back to the US, can they still arrest me? Does this apply to all laws?

No, what you do in other countries that is stil legal stays in those countries. Unless you violate any laws inside the U.S. they cannot arrest you.

The only state that so far makes prostitution legal is Nevada you can go to a brothel and not be arrested. Smoking pot is illegal here despite the characters who are trying to legalize it for medicinal purposes. US and Dutch laws are complete opposites since the Netherlands also allow people to freely use other drugs like cocaine and heroin and if you've been there you see people in the street engaging in this openly as if they were having lunch on a sidewalk cafe.

I think those two things are legal in many countries. I am no legal expert but I think the law is not broken in the United States, where it is illegal. It was done outside the United States. Therefore they cannot do anything.
It is the same thing that if you are married in United States you can still sleep with other men but there is a law against that in some other countries but they cannot arrest you (hopefully!)when you visit that country.

Yes the US can arrest you even if your actions are legal in another country. They totally control your life now. After Jan 14. '07 you will not even be allowed to come or go from America without special permission and I assure you they will not give it to you!

No, they cannot arrest you! They can only arrest you if you did something illegal in a place where it is illegal. Not somewhere else. If you gamble in Vegas, and fly back home.....they can't arrest you for it.
