What is the treatment for kidney stones?
Most kidney stones eventually pass through the urinary tract on their own within 48 hours, with ample fluid intake. Pain medications can be prescribed for symptom relief. There are several factors which influence the ability to pass a stone. These include the size of the person, prior stone passage, prostate enlargement, pregnancy, and the size of the stone. A 4 mm stone has an 80% chance of passage while a 5 mm stone has a 20% chance.
For kidney stones which do not pass on their own, a procedure called lithotripsy is often used. In this procedure, shock waves are used to break up a large stone into smaller pieces that can pass through the urinary system.
Surgical techniques have also been developed to remove kidney stones. This may be done through a small incision in the skin (percutaneous nephrolithotomy) or through an instrument known as an ureteroscope passed through the urethra and bladder up into the ureter.
Prevention of Kidney Stones
People who have had more than one kidney stone are likely to form another. Therefore, prevention is very important. There are two types of preventive measures that help in preventing other kidney stones from developing - life-style changes and medical intervention.
Life-style changes include:
Drink eight to 13 glasses of water (or at least two quarts) a day.
Limit the amount of calcium and oxalate-based foods eaten. These include apples, black pepper, chocolate, coffee, cheese, grapes, ice cream, vitamin C, yogurt, tomatoes and oranges, to name a few.
Limit the amount of animal protein eaten.
Limit salt intake.
Limit supplemental intake of vitamin C and D. Consult the doctor before taking vitamin supplements.
Limit alcohol consumption.

Well that depends on what you mean by getting rid of stones because if you have one that is ready to pass it will either pass
on it's own or the Doctor will have to do 1 of about 3 procedure
in the hospital. If like me I have one in the bottom of one of my
kidneys that has been there for a good 2 yrs of only 12 in 20
years.Drink plenty of water or Ocean spray Cranberry Juice it helps so if this is your first one good luck on passing it when it is ready and get ready to feel like you are having a 10 pound baby coming out with intense pain like no other in this world.

coca cola- drink 6 cans over a two hour period. the phosphoric acid will break down (certain) kinds of kidney stones.
You have to eat a serving of asparagus to purge the kidneys after drinking the soda. This is important.
Then drink a lot of water to flush it out. This has worked twice for my husband.
If you pee in a paper cup, you will see what passes. His looked like gray sludge. Weird, but he was washing cars three hours later.
I didn't go into a lot of detail but this remedy was purchased thru an alternative health practicioner.
You may think it's a joke, but honestly, it's worth a try.
The key is to flush the kidneys after drinking the coke, and asparagus does this. be sure to drink a lot of water.

Usually kidney stones can pass on their own if they're small, but if they are large they have to be removed surgically. These can be serious because they can rupture your kidneys if left untreated. Drinking doesnt help it will do a huge number on your liver over time, but you need to go see a specialist in Renal health to find out what you can do about stones.

Pass them, but let me warn you, you will feel like you have passed razor blades. I have heard that cranberry juice help. Drink lots of water. Also, try to find out what is causing your kidney stones. Mine are calcium based and drinking coffee for some reason helps them form. For that reason, I have lower both my intake of calcium loaded foods and coffee.
Good luck, I have felt your pain.
