Is the US goverment in charge of this country or are the American People?

I have never met an american who thought too much of the politicians of today or many of them of the past. Yet I watch two parties predominantly manipulate the population term after term. I watch the television with disgust at the political banter and bashing. I watch as our conglomerate goverment pushes this country towards the brink. I watch the people around me and sense the discomfort and false sense of security. Even those who view life through rose tinted glasses are straining to put on that Oh everythings gonna be just fine face. Yet we vote more of these shallow gutless soothsayers into office all bent on succeeding at conning you. According to the numbers the votes the polls the news media this is what you want. Are we two faced? Publicly we admit the goverments gone bad but privately we are enjoying this like a sick jerry springer episode? The next president or the president after that when will we stand tall and say enough is enough?

We are led by the nose, our perceptions clouded by a government -media coalition whose number one function is to maintain the status quo, the present direction of cash flow.

We had an "energy crisis" in 1973-74 (Arab Oil Embargo) bringing about several very viable alternative energy sources. One that comes to mind is the experiment by Washington State University students who built a pickup truck designed to use “trash gas” or “wood gas” to fuel the modified Detroit engine. It heats shredded wood or any combustible fiber, creating a propane like gas that runs the engine. They successfully drove this experimental vehicle from Seattle to Miami as a class project. Where is that technology today, with hundreds of woodstove fuel pellet plants now producing megatons of fuel for woodstoves? That is only one example…

Another? Look up the annual flow figures for The Alyeska pipeline, flowing at 96% rated capacity in 1976, now flowing at less than 30%. The number of wells on the North Slope has doubled since 1974…. Do the math.

Another? The military signed over the ownership of the Elk Hills petroleum reserves years ago to private oil interests, the pumping facilities are in place, the oil is there (a 500 year supply we are told), and not one barrel has been pumped…

You never hear about any of this on the evening news, but you sure hear daily about man ending his own life on earth through global warming.. (proven by non-government scientists to be a function of natural solar cycles).

The lobbyist controlled government officers rape the taxpayer then all of them have a competent slop on the known public treasury for appetizers then bypass play golfing mutually to stroll off the fat.

We all need to rise up and change things.

The government has gotten way off track. I cannot see how we can change things just by voting: what are the choices? Rich man; rich woman; rich family putting their kids into power.

Like it or not we actually do have a sort or monarchy and dictatorship in our country.

Revolution worked for us once and I am thinking we better try it again.

I am for change and I really do not care how we get it but we have to try

represent them and they alone are suppose to be intelligent enough to whom they put in office.
