First only use bit torrent for legal uses only. Dont download pirated software.

Second. If you are still using the 688* ports then you are being bandwidth throttled by the ISP. Change it to a higher port like 52000 or something. DO NOT USE SYSTEM PORTS (like 6880 or 80 or 8080)

Also note
if the torrents have very few people seeding the files then it will take longer to download (this is common with very old or brand new torrents). Make sure you are using the official tracker for the torrent. If you are downloading a stolen torrent then most of the tracker links will not function properly.

1 last thing.
the torrent community must work together. If you download 1 MB then you must upload at least 1 MB (communities prefer twice the download or 2 MB uploaded per 1 MB downloaded)
Some even track this and if you abuse the system you are penalized.

You need to understand how Bit Torrents work. You are NOT downloading files from azureus, you're getting them from other torrent users on the net. If there are only a very few torrent users with the files that you need, it may take a very long time to get the files.

Also, make sure that you are sharing the torrents that you already have. If you don't share, your download bandwidth will slowly drop to near zero. There's no way to change that, it's the way that the torrent system is designed. If you don't give, you won't get.
