I have an 11 year old son who wanted to earn money over the summer, he got a paper route, put up fliers advertising he would help with yard work and general clean up. He also went to his relatives and let them know he was available for any odd jobs they might have for him. Good luck.

Parents really need to network with their friend. Ask if there are chores your 11 yr old could help them with. Mowing Lawns and Dog walking or even helping teachers at school. If the child has a great goal for which the $$ is for I am sure all will pitch in for the cause.

Eleven is a little young to be babysitting...you aren't mentally mature enough to care for a little one, especially in the event of an emergency. When I was 11, I cleaned the neighbors houses, mowed lawns, and sold newspapers.

How 'bout this, your 11, be an 11 year old, ask your mom for an allowance. Trust me in 10 years you'll be asking, how can I make money without doing anything?

dont listen to what those others said. when i was 11 i had my mom sing up for a paper route around my neighborhood. she signed up because i was to young to do it. and she let me do the paper route myself. that way i learned on my own and took on responsibility. they may have it where you can have both names on the paper route just so he can get some credit. he doesnt need to do the ones where you wake up at 4 every morning but i did on that was every wed. and i made some money. they also have it where you can do routes that are just on sunday so he can have the weekend to get all the stuff in order...hope that helps!!

Well, i don't know if you will consider this babysitting, but you could have your child watch other people's pets while they are gone. Or he/she could walk neighbors pets around the block, or washing cars.
