my father in the last 15 years has worked in 5 different hospitals, each one of them had loads of money spent on it by building new departments etc then a year later they were closed down.

he now works in another hosptial and they are currnetly spending millions in refirbishment etc and now there are rumours of closure even in the papers,
i work also for the nhs and where i work we have just had a load of remoddeling etc and now there has been a meeting to decide our future one of the options and the most likely is, closure, i wanna know what the hell is going on. i feel they are creating a need for private hospitals they are getting the buildings ready so privatisation can just move in. what are your views

Privatisation of the NHS has been happening by stealth for many years now - witness the creation of NHS Trusts, and the private companies they employ to provide critical care and GP services.

The American health industry cannot wait to get its hands on the NHS, as it will produce billions of dollars for them.

By stealth, including bad newspaper reports, making everyone sick of the ill news, no pun intended, so that they accept almost anything that looks like a good alternative.

There is an Agency in London, American owned, who supply the NHS with overseas Doctors. They were handed the contract, no tender, excluding all UK companies.

Over two years they have never exceeded 47% of the target in suply terms, yet they have just been awarded the contract again, and agin with no tenders.

Ths is just one example.

Privatization is big all over. Just like Bush trying to privatize Social Security. It Allows the addition of another layer of beuracracy or a middle man its just a scam to skim money off the top. They privatized DMV in NJ and it cost 250 more
So the employees got screwed, they make less money. The public got screwed, service is no better, but the company that runs the things gets their money
