It depends on what time of day, which route you take and if there are any accidents or raodworks. Anywhere between 3 and 6 hours is about right.

Legally allow at least four hours. It is 217 miles centre-to-centre and there is a 50mph speed limit on the M8 (although in the peak, you'll be lucky if you reach 20mph!)
