I just replaced my black ink cartridge, too, while my color cartridge is running VERY low.

If you scanned the photos and then directly printed that would be your problem. Scanners cannot colour match properly.

the problem may also be that the black cartridge in your printer is not a true black. In many cases the colours are used to darken and sharpen the back.

If you are printing from a colour photo, try using a photo shop program to make the picture black and white and print with default (all colour) settings and see if that makes a difference.

i would be incorrect including your variety yet most of the Canon Pixma printers will in basic terms print b&w whilst greyscale field is ticked and set as default in the putting menu - it particularly is using fact maximum Pixma's do not use a black ink cartridge they 'make up' black from the colour cartridges that's between the few (and costly) drawbacks whilst utilising those printers for something different than coloration printing or image printing using fact the cartridges as you're able to already understand are very costly.. upload: click an internet site to print - whilst print field opens elect 'residences' next field is tabbed elect 'Print consultant Button' whilst next field opens elect "speedy Print all black text fabric" click 'next' elect "Media variety" (undeniable paper/envelope etc) click 'next' click 'end' click 'ok' that's for my Pixma

The issue is may be due to the improper communication between the printer cradle and the cartridge contacts.

Therefore, I suggest you to visit the following web page and then follow the instructions to clean the cartridge contacts manually.

I web page I have provided will definitely help you. Please follow the instructions provided in the web page and then try printing.

maybe you could take out the color cartridge.
Did you test your black before you started printing? The black may not be working very well.
