During pregnancy the ligaments and tissues between bones soften, so you can be more prone to back and hip problems, even early on. I had more trouble in that area with my second pregnancy. My tailbone was a problem in particular. Just a warning about the tailbone - get it looked at properly to determine if it is likely to move out the way (as it should) during birth or not, because if there is a problem with it, you could actually get hurt.

My tailbone broke during the delivery of my first because I was unaware of the fact that my tailbone was rigid instead of flexible - during the birth it should move out of the way, but it didn't, and broke, causing months of pain and discomfort! I'm not trying to scare you, but there are birthing positions to minimise this possibility that would have helped me had I known.

It sounds like since your tailbone is cricked that the baby is laying on a nerve that was moved. I'm not a doctor so I really can't say for sure but it was the same thing that happened to me. About a weeek after I gave birth I didn't hurt like that any more. I hurt in other areas but not as bad as the tailbone pain.

a baby puts a lot of pressure on you from the inside. all kinds of body parts move and make way for the growing baby inside you. Sometimes women will carry the child in a different way than others, and it sounds like you are carrying more towards your pelvis/hip area. There probably isn't anything wrong with you, but you could talk to your doctor about it just to make sure. Congrats by the way!

This sounds like something for your Doctor and not the general public.
