It's called selective memory. People remember the good things and forget about the bad things. People also select what they want to remember and what they want to forget. Everybody knows about what happened to the Jews during WW2 but how many know that the white people invading America killed far more native Americans than Hitler killed Jews?

She doesn't mean there weren't Evil people in the world. Hitler being number one.
I could write a book for you to help you understand exactly how evil he was. But you just need to Google World War II and do some reading. If you will do this, you will learn how evil war is.
BUT WE DIDN'T START WORLD WAR II.
NOR DID WE START THE WAR AGAINST TERRORISM.
This was a man who wanted to take over the world. He killed millions of innocent people for no reason. The rest died in battle.
DO SOME SERIOUS RESEARCH. IT WILL BE GOOD FOR YOUR EDUCATION.

People dieing in wars has nothing to do with their comment. Decades ago, life was just much simpiler and safer. As a child we never locked our doors (home or car), I could ride my bike all over town and there were no perverts there to grab me, my mother was a 'stay at home mom' because my father made enough money for her not to work, there were not tons of chemicals in our food, neighbors were neighborly, I had tons of relatives living near us and there were no gangs.

Those people died because of a few tremendously bad/evil people. Hitler for instance. If you calculate how many people dies at his hand...you find the amount to be far greater than the rest of the population of the world at that time.
