Well there are alot of sites you can use to get you on the right track however the biggest advise i can give you first is to absolutely make sure that your basement has no moisture in it what so ever and when you put the wall studes up you use a good vapor barrier and i mean a good one after this is all done go ahead and finish the rest of the project. Make Sure! there is no moisture because all the money and work will be for nothing otherwise.

When you find out, let me know too... My hubb just recently ran up the charge to finish our garage to use for a Football/playroom/video game for the kids and he did everything but could not hang the ceiling boards by himself because they are huge and too heavy.

Make sure you have help with the drywall! Measure and hang carefully and when it comes time to tape it... do yourself a favor and hire someone... taping drywall is an art and it your do it wrong, you WILL regret it!

As far as the other things go... I have NO idea... sorry.

SInce it is in a basement, let me also reccomend a coat or two of a paint called Killz. You can find it anywhere and it is vital to control moisture and mold that can show up unexpectedly in enclosed spaces... Prime with it and then follow up with whatever color and or crown molding you might use...

Good luck!
