Being way up in age, I remember many things about Churchill. In addition to being a great statesman, he had quite a sense of humor.
At an important dinner one of the ladies said, " Mr. Churchill, you're drunk ". Churchill said, " Madam you're ugly, and tomorrow I'll be sober ".

I wasnt there, because I was born a few decades later, but I remember what was taught in my history class...and honestly we didn't cover a lot on Churchill.

I was a history minor in college and he was the glue at the time that held the spirit of the English people together especially under the Blitzkrieg of bombs they had to endure. They could have easily caved under the pressure but he kept the country intact...
