How can I get deleted songs back into my iPod?

I have no idea what happened, but I put some new songs into
my iPod from iTunes, (YAY!) but then I discovered it had
DELETED all the songs I already had in there! (BOOOOO...!)
I think they're still in the computer, somewhere, or else in iTunes
somewhere else, I just can't get to them and get them in there!
I had taken the iTunes CD and reloaded the thing, went through
the instructions step-by-step, was that the problem? Did it just
"cancel" the old iTunes out? Can I get all of the songs to
co-exist in there? HELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!

You didn't say if you're using a PC or Apple computer.

First you have to locate where your song files are. If you have no idea then use Windows Explorer search function to locate them.

Now you can import them back into iTunes by using the menu or just dragging the folder that contains them to the library item.
