I've asked myself that same question a million times...my theory is that once you reach the center, gravity will try to keep you there. so what you need to do from this point on is 'climb up while digging'. so you'd be climbing out the other end.
What do you think?

You would come out on the other side up side down.
If you'd let go, you would fall down due to gravity, all the way to the center.
In the center (or even after about 10 km of falling) you would burn. Suppose you'd wear a suit that doesn't burn, than if you've reached the center, you have so much speed that you will move on exactly to the other side of the earth. If there is no drag due to air, you would be oscillating from on side of earth to the other, forever.
Good luck digging :-)

You will not float anywhere except the center of the planet. If you could get to the center of the earth, you would weigh nothing. Gravity is a function of mass, and at the center of the earth you would be surrounded by an equal amount of mass. Once at the center, you would have to climb out, no matter what direction you choose.

Hypothetically conversing, confident. yet in basic terms after a great variety of rocking around the centre. you're able to shoot previous the centre due on your momentum from the autumn, and attain extraordinarily much an analogous top you have been at formerly falling in, yet then gravity could take over and you're able to fall back down back. After each fall, you're able to lose some momentum, till you're caught on the centre of the planet.

Purely from mathematical angle the object which is dropped in to this hole will continue to execute simple harmonic motion. The force directed towards center is the Earth's gravity. The object will move in this hole back and forth endlessly until frictional and damping forces slow it down, it will come to rest at center. In actuality this is quite impossible because the Nickel-Iron core at the center is at 6500Deg Celsius. and no object from Earth will survive his temperature.

Actually I don't think you will be falling anywhere. If anything, you'll be oscillating in the center of the earth, due to the effects of gravity.

Was just on the National News other night, you would end up
in water if theoretically you dug straight thru with the only
exception of two spots out west. I cannot remember where
their were, I belive one was in colorado. These two spots
would hit islands on the other side of the globe.

Falling down, because the centre of the Earth is the centre of the gravity, isn't it?

you can't dig a hole through the centre of the earth as you'll get burnt to death...but i guess you'd fall down!
