Well if your kid jumped out of a window because he though he could fly, then you are a bad parent and probably shouldn't have had a child because you obviously weren't ready for the responsibilites of one.

Movies are movies and it's a business. They make their money off movies and selling them to younger kids and whoever. Your child isn't going to drive to the store and buy the movie with it's visa. YOU are giong to do that, and so you should determine if the movie is appropreite for your child.

It's not all animated movies. If you know right from wrong and are brought up in a good home and taught early on that there really is no Santa or Easter bunny, then your children are more apt to not believe in fairy tales and super hero's and try stupid stunts.

Look at Jackass the movie, those kids were older in high school and it wasn't an animated movie and they jumped off buildings hoping to land in a pool and the last kid busted his legs to pieces when hitting the concrete.

I really dont believe animated movies are bad for kids. Its a form of expression for artists who make it and promotes creativity and imagination for children. I dont doubt that story is true but not likely, kids can usually tell the difference between real life and animated things on tv. Also it isnt the animators fault if it did happen, its the parent's for not showing the kid the difference.

I also remember hearing about this kid who put a fish bowl on their head to imitate sandy cheeks from spongebob. The kid jumped into a pool and tried to swim but drowned.

True, animated series do have these standards that seems to be setting bad examples for younger children. However, where is there common sense, even their child-like common sense? And where is their supervision?
