WD 40 is what I use. Whatever you use, spray it on and let it run off. Do not rub it, it will scuff your paint. If spraying on and letting it run doesn't remover the stuff, get something else that will.

Tar I can understand, but BURNT RUBBER?
I don't know how even your HS kid could get that on the side.

There is stuff called Bug and Tar remover at most any car parts store.

Go to the automotive section of your local store (Wal-mart, ect.) and get some tar remover. It works great!

I once read that "peanut butter" "real peanut butter" works well in the removal of road tar and or rubber from automobiles...
