sounds like your mom found a great guy...who cares if he is handicapped? If he's great to you and your mom, then love him like you would your OWN dad! He probably treats you like your his own if your mom would go the big step of marrying him!!!

Treat him the way you would like him to treat you.
He will not necessarily fill the role of your father but you must respect your mother's choice of a husband.
Today there are many mixed families but you will find your mother will always consider you first!
Maybe her new husband will make a great "pal" for you? Handicapped people can be as great or better than people that are not disabled.
Give him a chance!

You'll get used to it. After you get to know people, you don't notice the things that stood out when you first met them.
If you have questions, I would suggest that you ask him if you can talk him about his accident or condition...
...and if he says yes, maybe right them out so you can get as many out of the way as possible.

Well, if she really loves him, and you don't really have any issues with him other than that, why not? I mean, it's her life, and though she has to take into consideration your feelings, don't you think it would make her happy to accept him? Maybe not as a father, but as her new husband...

your mother is a compationate person! i think it's wonderful that she is setting such a good example for you. this question brought tears to my eyes. be happy for your mother she is a truly beautiful person!
i'm sure things won't change in your relationship with your mother... this will make you stronger. PLEASE remember to see beyond his disabilities and look at the wonderful qualities that your mother obviously sees in him. remember to treat him like you would treat any other man in your mother's life.
CONGRATS on having such a fantastic role model as your mother!
