I've done both. I've kicked my ex, who is a dog..
And according to my Daughter, if you asked her, she's always starving, and I've ate a burger in front of her..so..there ya go.

Seriously, if i had to decide, I guess I'd kick the dog ONLY if the child got the hamburger. And I would kick the dog very, very, very gently. More of a nudge, really.
